Groove Fellowship (and DAG Media Productions LLC) is proud to announce the release of their latest album, “Street Corner Musician,” an eclectic collection of original music hailing from the heart of The Motor City that provides a vibe for everyone.

The album features all original lyrics and arrangement by Daniel Gamlin, who also provides lead vocals and a driving rhythm on bass. Songs feature a seering lead guitar played by Kevin Jackson, and genre-defining percussion with Lem Joyner on drums. Additional instrumental and vocal support appears courtesy of Kareem Warren, Lorenzo Veal, Gabe Gamlin, Shari Gamlin, and Tonya Thomas. The album was studio-recorded, mixed, and mastered at Central Recording Studio, Sterling Heights, MI, and features album cover artwork by Taylor Gamlin. “Street Corner Musician” is released on the DAG Media Productions LLC label.

“This album represents the culmination of ten years of capitalizing on inspiration when it hits; collecting creative ideas in the moment; collaborating with brothers, all with crazy schedules; and persisting in the generative process alongside all the daily commitments each band member maintains to full-time work, family, Faith, and other pursuits,” says Dan Gamlin, leader of the group. “We are thrilled to finally be able to present this collection of work—this historical record—to the world in celebration of all the music that has inspired us individually and collectively, and in our own effort to both elevate the local music profile of the city we love [Detroit] and contribute to its already rich and storied musical history. It’s been a long time coming, and we couldn’t have gotten here without the love and support of those around us—family, friends, partners, venues, the whole lot.”

The album is available for purchase and download on the group’s Bandcamp page (including exclusive bonus content especially for Bandcamp buyers,) and is also available for purchase/stream on all popular online platforms. The album is currently available for purchase on CD, and will be available on vinyl this summer—use the contact info below for purchase and outlet locations. The band is currently working on and plans to release music videos in line with the album this summer.

Influenced by the stylings of Prince, The B-52s, Miles Davis, The Isley Brothers, Cameo, The Yellowjackets, Parliament Funkadelic, John Coltrane, Kraftwerk, Jimi Hendrix, The Police, and all the good stuff played in the eclectic late-night playlist of Detroit’s own Electrifying Mojo in the 80s, Groove Fellowship is an original music group blending funk, rock, R&B and acid jazz into a sound that is completely their own.

Band members are life-long Detroiters through and through—living, working, or attending school in The Motor City. They are actively contributing to the grand musical culture and history of Detroit, sourcing locally as well as supporting their local peers in the music industry to elevate the profile of music in and around the Detroit area. After all, “Fellowship” is in their name.
